Adding Social Media

I knew adding social media on my blog would be a good idea it really helps people find you in different ways and helps them to keep in contact with you every way.

I found some great watercolour social media icons on google. The blog said anyone could use them so I downloaded them and then researched how to add social media icons onto your blog. I found a great youtube video which made my life so much easier .

This was my final result after watching the video. (this is now working on the side of my blog)
It was hard to do but I'm so glad I did as i think it makes my blog look more professional.

Deciding on blog post

After speaking to my teacher she said I need to think of blog post that I will be doing weekly. Again I brainstormed a few ideas.

  • Reviews (weekly)
  • Get the look (monthly)
  • Treatments- shops/diy   could call this beauty address of the month
  • Outfit of the week (weekly)  StyleHunter/StreetStyle
  • Brand Focus (monthly) Pick 4 products the hero product, hidden gem, the dud and something from the latest launch.
  • Dupes (spontaneous)
  • Top 10 under 10 (spontaneous)
  • Hauls (Spontaneous)
  • Handbag Doctor?
These are just a few ideas i had I defiantly want to be doing reviews and Style Hunter each week if possible.

Working on a header for my blog

I knew I wanted my colours to be pink blue and rose gold but didn't really have any ideas on how I wanted it to look.

This was my first idea

After making it and adding it to my blog I realised there was just too much going on and I really needed some kind of logo.

I drew lots of different ideas until I came up with the idea of the book being open.

Now I just needed to pick a font!

I spent hours downloading fonts and looking trying to pick the perfect on you could read easily and still looked girly and lovely. The font I chose is Notera.

I then decided the background should be quite plain. So thought a water colour design would look really nice with the writing i've picked.

I just look the simplicity of the design I'm happy with my final outcome of my header design.

First Initial Ideas

I first had to really think what I wanted my blog to be about. I love makeup and fashion so thought this would be a good place to start. After talking to people and asking them what they would like to see I came up with a 4 ideas  Reviews, Looks, Tutorials and DIY.  I chose my demographic to be 13- 25 I wanted to keep my blog young.

Picking a Name

The names that are highlighted are the names I shortlisted them down to. I went back after a week and we discussed the names. I came to the final choice and picked Little Beauty Book. I thought this was a good name and a play on the words the little black book where they keep secrets and notes.
